I will walk you through step-by-step and not only that, but I will also give you access to my step-by-step video tutorial that teaches you how to create a website from scratch.

Ready?
Today there are more people online than every before and if your church doesn't have a website, then you are missing out on an opportunity to grow your church. Many people may think that creating a website is difficult and should be left up to the professionals. That is not the case. I like to put it like this, if you can create a Facebook page, then you can create a website.
When I first started designing websites it was back in 1998 and I used to use a program called Microsoft frontpage. I admit it was a little difficult and took a lot of research to learn how to put a basic website together.
I am happy to say that with the advancement of technology, it has made creating a website so much easier and so much quicker.
Steps To Creating A Website
There are really only 3 steps when it comes to creating a website:
- Choosing a Domain Name
- Choosing a Platform that will host your Website
- Creating Your Website
Let's take a look at each step and then I will give you access to my step-by-step tutorial and you will be on your way to creating you very first website. Also if you ever have any questions when creating your website, I would like to personally help you. I can be reached at support@creatingwebsite.org and I would love to hear from you.
Choosing A Domain Name
A domain name is the web address where your website is located. For example: when you type in facebook.com that is a domain name. Google.com that is a domain name. Yahoo.com that is a domain name. Whatever you type into the search engine browser to find a website is considered the domain name.
I like to look at it like this. Just like a house has an address for people to find it, so it is with a website, the domain name is the address that people type in to find your website.
When choosing a domain name for your church, you want it to be short, sweet and to the point. You want to avoid dashes, numbers and things that are hard to spell.
You want a domain name to be easy to remember. Such as www.theonfirechurch.com or www.churchonthemove.com
Another suggestion is to try and include the name of your church in your domain name. This is good for branding your church and helps people to remember your church and your domain name.
Choosing Web Hosting
Web hosting is the place that actually holds all the files for your website. Let's use the example of a house again. Just like a house has an address, you also need land to put the house on. Well that is how web hosting works. Your website needs a place to store all the files that make up your website and this is called website hosting. Also know as ” Web Hosting.“
Now there are a few things that you want to consider when you are choosing a place that will host your website.
- How fast is the customer service, just in case you ever have issues with your site.
- How much is their monthly fees?
- How fast are their servers? Having a slow server can negatively affect your rankings in the google search engine. Basically, it can affect how many people are going to visit your website.
If you are barely starting out with your church website you can get web hosting as little as $4 to $5 a month.
I wouldn't stay at this level for too long, but it is a great place to get started.
Creating Your Website
Now comes the fun part and that is creating your website and like I mentioned earlier, with technology today creating a website has become very fast and easy. As a matter of fact, creating a website is so simple today that there is no reason why your church shouldn't have its own website.
Let me put it to you nicely. If your church doesn't have a website then you are missing out on so many opportunities to grow your church and you are outdated.
